CELEBRATION...XANDER IS 1 YEARS OLD!

Hi Family & Friends!
Happy 1st Birthday to Xander! 12 months have flown by so quickly. I still remember 1 year ago, Wil and I were waiting for Xander to finally arrive. After 36 hours of labor, 2 1/2 hours of pushing, Xander finally made his appearance at 1:50am...and he was so worth it! It was unbeliveable that a little person was made. It was one of the happiest and most amazing days of our lives. We had a party to celebrate his first birthday with friends and family.

Xander has been very busy this month. He has officially started walking (almost across the room). We are in trouble! ha! ha! We are sure that he will be running around by the end of the year. It was so amazing when I first saw him take his first steps toward me.

Xander celebrated his first Halloween this year. We went to the pumpkin patch with his girlfriend Kai. We all had a blast. Xander dressed up as The Incredible Hulk.
We are also celebrating Xander's 2nd Thanksgiving holiday. Last year, we were still adjusting to our 1 week old baby. Our family came over and brought us food. This year, we went to Grandma & Grandpa Chooey's house for dinner. We are also celebrating with Grandma & Grandpa Chea on the day of Thanksgiving. Xander enjoyed eating his first turkey leg...just like his Daddy! haha!

Xander's New Tricks:

-Opening and closing cabinets doors

-Walking

-Drinking cow's milk

-Eating lots more solid food

-Blowing kisses

-Waving hello and good-bye
I will try to update the blog regularly but it might not be every month. I'll do my best. It's been a lot of fun writing, reading the past blogs and watching him grow. Wil and I look forward to more fun with our little man.

11 Months Old

It's hard to believer Xander is almost 1 years old. One more month to go and we celebrate! This month has gone by so quickly. Xander has been cheering and wearing his Panda hat to support his Giants baseball team.

Xander has 2 teeth on the bottom which came in first and now 2 teeth on the top. There's a gap between the 2 top teeth which makes him even cuter. We may need to invest in some braces like his mommy.

Xander has a funny side and can been seen here acting like a Panda at the zoo. After he climbs the stairs, he closes the gate door. He loves standing and shaking the bars like a little animal. It's the best after a long day at work.

Xander's New Tricks:

-He loves to close the doors
-He's eating whole grain rice, chicken, fish and anything he can get his hands on
-Gently pets Bernie (Xander's doggie) now

We're having lots of fun. Xander really has a big personality. Looking forward to his big day next month.

Happy 10 Months Old!

Xander went to his 1st San Francisco Giants baseball game. We had a great family day at AT&T Ballpark. The Giants won...YAY! Let's Go Giants! Look at Xander's 2 bottom teeth. His 2 top teeth just broke through the gums.

Xander made lots of friends at the game.

Xander also went to an Oakland A's game.

It was a beautiful sunny family day!

You might have noticed that Xander is not in this photo. Yes, Wil and I went to Napa for a wedding without Xander. Grandma & Grandpa Chea babysat Xander for the weekend. We missed Xander a whole bunch.

Xander's New Tricks:

-Walking with his walker toy (He's fast)
-Standing for a few seconds without holding on
-Climbing the stairs as his daily exercise
-Eating chicken

Xander is almost a year old. It's amazing how fast time flies. More to come!

Happy 9 Months!

Xander has been keeping us busy and it's been so fun watching him grow. He's speed crawling all over the house. Climbing up the stairs from the 1st floor all the way up. We have been baby proofing the house with corner cushions, outlet covers and gates.

Our lil one has been teething and now has 2 bottom teeth. It's even cuter when he smiles and laughs.

It's been a very busy summer for the Chooey-Chea family. We've been going to birthdays, red egg and ginger celebrations, bbq's and shopping.

We bought a bike trailer for Xander to ride in. We rode our bikes all around Alameda. Xander was busy looking at the sights and fell asleep most of the bike ride. It was a beautiful day and had lots of fun!

We went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival and enjoyed lots of food.

Xander's New Tricks:
-Speed crawling
-Climbing stairs
-Eating new solid foods like plums, carrots, jook (rice porridge)
-Splashing his hands in Bernie's doggie water bowl

8 Months Old & The Great Outdoors

The Chooey-Chea's have been very busy this month. Xander has been to the snow in Tahoe, swimming in Maui and now camping in Livermore. We went camping with a bunch of our friends for the weekend. We had a great time hanging out in the hot weather, swimming at the lake and roasting smores by the fire.

Xander slept in the sleeping bag inside the tent. It was hot during the day and cool at night.

Xander and I enjoying the beautiful view at our camp site.

Xander went to his first Pump It Up party. Wil and Xander went down the big slide together. Our little baby had lots of fun jumping around. We all had fun. Maybe when Xander gets older, we'll have his birthday party at Pump It Up.

Our lil Giants fan loves playing with his bat. Daycare closed for a week and Grandma Chooey stayed at our house to babysit Xander while I worked from home. It was so nice seeing Xander and Grandma Chooey bonding.

Wil and I try to have Date Days every month. This month, we had Grandma & Grandpa Chea babysit and we went to Ride the Ducks. It's a SF tour bus that starts at Fisherman's Wharf, goes around the city and also turns into a boat and in the water. It was so much fun. We had a relaxing lunch at the Ferry Building. We thought about Xander the entire time.

Xander's New Tricks:

-Crawling all over the place. (Time to baby proof the house)
-Standing up on his own. The first time, we found him standing in his crib in the morning. (Wil lowered the crib)
-Clapping his hands
-He says, "Ma Ma" for Mommy

We are having so much fun watching Xander grow up!

7 Months Old - Maui Wowee!

Our little man is 7 months old and has now traveled to Maui. Xander did very well on the airplane. On the flight to Maui, he played for half the time and slept the other half. On the flight back to San Francisco, he slept the whole time. We were so proud of him and relieved at the same time. We had a great time playing on the beach, swimming in the pool, sight seeing and eating. We made sure to put tons of sunscreen to protect our lil precious baby.

Wil and I went snorkeling, took turns of course. Someone hung out with Xander. Wil swam with 2 sea turtles. When it was my turn, I didn't think I would see anything. I saw 1 sea turtle and we swam together. We also saw lots of beautiful fish.
We went to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium. Xander loved looking at the fishes, jelly fish, sting rays and sharks. Yes, sharks! I think he loved the beautiful blue colors. We were really impressed with the aquarium. Much better than the SF aquarium.

We stayed at a wonderful hotel and woke up to this beautiful view everyday. We ate lots of good food like poke (raw fish), mixed plate from Da Kitchen, shaved ice, Hula pie and much more everyday while Xander ate Cherrios and Banana Puffs. He's going to start eating solids everyday at daycare next week. We are starting with Peas.

Xander's New Tricks:

-Starting to crawl (oh my!)
-Sitting up in a high chair
-Waves hi and good-bye with only his right hand
-Said "Da Da" for Daddy

Can't wait to share more special moments of our lil man!

6 Months Old...1/2 Year Old

Our little man is 6 months old and it's gone by so fast. Wil and I agree that this age is so much fun. Xander is so active. We are enjoying every moment with him.

Xander had a good time wearing his Giants outfit and posing for photos. He smiles and laughs a lot.

The best part of my day is picking him up from daycare. He is usually busy playing and then notices that I'm there. He just lights up with a big smile and kicks around. I just love him so much!

Xander went swimming for the 1st time. After feeding and a quick nap, he loved playing in his floating saucer. It's going to come in handy for our 1st vacation with Xander to Maui in June 2010. We're so excited. This was Xander's 1st time on the swing and he absolutely loved it. The higher the better.

My 1st Mother's Day was great. It's like having 2 birthdays. I started off the day with a well needed massage while Wil watched Xander. Then Wil made me breakfast. Then, Xander got me an "X" pendant necklace. I was so surprised and when I saw the "X", it brought happy tears to my eyes.

New Tricks:
-Sitting up without us holding him
-Rolling all over
-Playing with all his toys
-Sitting at the table
-1st solid food -BANANAS

More to come...

My Baby is 5 Months Old Today!

Go Xander! 5 months old already and I must say, every month keeps getting better. The Chooey-Chea family has been very busy this past month. We all got dressed up and went to a wedding in Sacramento with a bunch of our friends. It was our first hotel stay and everything went well. It turns out that Xander likes sleeping in hotel rooms. Thank goodness. Baby and I had our first dance...we had a great time shaking it on the dance floor.

We went to the Oakland Zoo. It was Xander's first time and he slept through most of it. Sleepy head. He did wake up for the giraffes, elephants and monkeys. It was a beautiful day and we had such a fun family day.

Daddy and Baby looking at the giraffes.

Mommy and Baby playing at the zoo.
We also took Xander to South Tahoe for his first snow trip. A lot of "first" events this month. He loved the snow. I'm not sure if I had more fun taking photos or if he had more fun eating the snow. Here's my snow bunny:

New Tricks this month:

-Sucking his middle and ring finger (drooling & teething...fun!)

-When we tickle him, he laughs

-He constantly talks and talks (baby talk...of course)

-Almost sitting up on his own...almost.
